Benefits of Photoshop CS3 Extended

Photoshop CS3 Extended can take advantage of the Measurement Tool to measure an X-Ray or a floor plan.

You may be wondering what makes the Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended so different from the previous CS3 version. Well, the Photoshop CS3 Extended version includes new capabilities and tools, including the ability to create 3D models, animation and video and image measurements and analysis. While the original CS3 is suitable for photographers, graphic designers, web designers and print service providers, the CS3 Extended is ideal for multimedia professionals, graphic and web designers that have a need for 3D models, architects and engineers, manufacturing professionals, medical professionals and scientific researchers.

Like the original version, the CS3 Extended also builds on the previous Photoshop version (CS2). This allows the user to quickly adapt to the new but still familiar interface. The new features in CS3 are also integrated to the standard Photoshop and can be easily accessed.

One of the new features in CS3 Extended allows the user to create and manipulate 3D objects and incorporate them into 2D models. It also supports various 3D formats, including OBJC, 3DS, KMZ and COLLADA. Unfortunately, it does not support the use of DWG, which is often used in computer-aided design models.

The CS3 Extended also allows the users to import video files easily and quickly. The users can then proceed to edit the video. For example, users can edit the video frame by frame by using the Duplicate Frame, Clone, Text and Scale tools. The user can also add new elements to multiple frames at the same time without destroying the video. The edited video or created can then be exported into MPEG-4, QuickTime or Adobe Flash Video formats.

Another feature in the CS3 Extended, the Measure Tool, also lets the user to quickly and easily measure a model’s dimension. However, the user will first need to assign a measurement to any part of the model. For example, to know the measurements of the rest of the parts in a photo of a building, the user will first need to supply a known measurement of a part of the building, such as a door or a window. The measurements can then be kept in a Measurement Log. The measurement data, such as the width, height, scale, etc are kept in tables to make them easier to read. Conveniently, the Measurement Log can also keep logs for multiple image files and can be exported into a spreadsheet.

In short, the CS3 Extended has many benefits, especially for professionals. Medical professionals and engineers, for example, can take advantage of the Measurement Tool to measure an X-Ray or a floor plan. What’s more, it is also easy to use and learn, so it will have great benefits for the aforementioned industries and will make a great addition to any technical expert’s toolkit.
