Creating Your Dream Wedding Photos with Photoshop CS3

Creating your dream wedding photos is not difficult - all you need is a little creativity.
Have you ever wished that your wedding photos didn’t look so bland? Have you ever wished that you had spent a little more money to have those dreamy-looking wedding photos? Well, now there’s a solution to that. If you have Photoshop CS3 lying around in your computer, why not try editing those ordinary looking wedding photos by yourself? Creating your dream wedding photos is not difficult – all you need is a little creativity.
Perhaps one of the most used styles in wedding photography is the “one stand out object”. Usually, the photographer will choose an object (typically the flower bouquet or the bride and the groom) from the photo and edit it so that it is the only one in colour while the rest of the photograph is in black and white. This is so that the object stands out from the rest and becomes the focus of the picture. You can also achieve this look for your photos using Photoshop CS3.
First, open up your desired photo in CS3 and choose the object that you want to stand out. To make things easier for you, it would be best if the photo is in colour. Otherwise, you will need to colour the object you want to stand out. Next, it is the matter of selecting the object. You can either use the Pen tool (press P to toggle the Pen tool) or the Polygonal Lasso (L). If you are experienced, you can also use the Vector mask for better results.
After you’ve selected your object, press Shift + CTRL + I (or you can also choose Select > Inverse from the menu). To turn the background black and white, hit Shift + CTRL + U or choose Image > Adjustments > Desaturate from the menu. To adjust the brightness and contrast of the desaturated area, choose Image > Adjustments > Brightness/Contrast. Optionally, you can also choose to use the Curves menu. Once you’re finished, double click on the image and save. Voila! You’re done.
Another style that you can try is the “dreamy-looking photo”. To achieve this look, you will be using the Gaussian Blur filter. As always, open up the photo you want to edit. Duplicate the layer by right clicking on the layer and choosing Duplicate Layer. Apply Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur on the duplicate layer. Put in 5.0 or so in the Radius box and click OK. Then, change the opacity of the layer to Soft Light or Overlay, whichever looks best. And voila, you’ve created a dreamy looking picture of your wedding!
