Edit and Share Your Photos Online with Adobe Photoshop Elements 7
The Photoshop Elements series is the consumer version of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe’s market leading master image editing software. Photoshop Elements cost approximately 1/6th of the original Photoshop price while still containing most of the powerful features. Designed specifically for use by photography enthusiasts, Photoshop Elements lack the features for fine printing production (for example, it does not support CMYK colour mode). However, it has the advantage of being the software that can be used by everyone and incorporates features that are simplified for non-expert use.
The latest upgrade of Photoshop Elements was released last August, when Adobe launched Adobe Photoshop Elements 7. Sold at a price of $100 (or $150 when bundled with Premiere Elements 7, Adobe’s premium video-editing software), the Photoshop Elements 7 provides fresh features and the ability to share photos online. Following the hottest trend in photo sharing, the Photoshop Elements 7 is tied with Photoshop.com, Adobe’s new service that allows people to upload and share their photos online.
The Photoshop.com is an online image editing service that allows users to easily edit, store, backup and share their photos. Users can edit a photo online, have it synched with their home PC, and upload it into an online photo album for others to see. Photoshop.com provides two levels of membership, free and Plus. The free membership provides the user with 5 GB of storage while the Plus membership provides 20 GB, enough for storing approximately 15,000 photos. Plus members can also opt to receive design advice, tutorials, tricks, inspiring seasonal artwork, and templates regularly from Adobe.
The Photoshop Elements 7 also comes with a bunch of new features and fixes of its previous versions. The Scene Cleaner option, for example, allows the user to brush away unwanted details from a photo. Another new feature is the Smart Brush that lets the user apply effects to some area of a photo. With the Photoshop Elements 7, the user can also create the perfect group shot with Photomerge, a tool that can merge particular areas from a series of photos.
The Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 is perfect for anyone who wishes to have a low cost but premium image editor and organizer. Complete with many useful features and online components that permit the user to easily store, organize, and share photos, the Photoshop Elements 7 is a powerful and worthy upgrade.
