Overview
Adobe Photoshop 7, a graphic editing program allows users to create, manipulate and organize photos and illustrations. Adobe Photoshop 7 contains numerous features that users may find confusing at first, but once you get a grasp on the basics it is fairly straightforward.
Function
The main tools of Adobe Photoshop 7 are within the Tool Bar window. Tools such as the Marquee are included in the first section; the second section contains tools like the Rubber Stamp and Burn which are manipulation tools. The third section has a selection of color tools such as the Color Selector.
Features
Adobe Photoshop 7 is compatible with any type of image file. Users can edit using BMP, JPEG, GIF and Adobe PDF files amongst other files. If users are looking to automatically import files from their digital cameras, this can be done using the Photoshop RAW image converter through RAW camera files or Photoshop itself.
Size
Users can make use of the Navigation window if they want to look at their photo in different sizes. Users can zoom quickly by dragging the arrow in and out. Users can select sizes like 10%, 20% up to 100% by clicking on the triangle icon, which will zoom to the selected sizes. The red box on the picture shows the area which needs to be zoomed in on.
Layers
Users can easily create and edit projects by using the Layers window. You can split the picture into different layers, in order to edit portion by portion without harming another portion of the picture. For instance, you can turn the head section of a person into one layer. Next, you can make changes to the head, or even replace it with a completely different head.
Considerations
Use Manipulation tools to improve and morph photos. The Dodge and Burn Tools can be used to darken areas or highlight areas. If you want to copy one section of the picture to another, use the Rubber Stamp tool. The Pencil and Brush are used to create and draw new graphics and colors on a project. The Color tool will come in handy when you want to select a variety of colors. The default color is usually black as the front color, while the rear color is white. The Eyedropper can be used to select a preferred color for the image. You can also double click to select your favorite colors. The Shapes tool menu will help you select an ecliptic shape such as a rectangular shape or custom shape including hearts, stars and dog prints!
